Brad Schimel (born February 18, 1965) is an American lawyer, judge, and Republican politician. He was the 44th attorney general of Wisconsin , serving from 2015 to 2019. He was defeated seeking re-election in 2018 , and was subsequently appointed a Wisconsin circuit court judge in Waukesha County by Governor Scott Walker .

Brad Schimel has served in many roles in the legal system, including, since 2018, as a Wisconsin circuit court judge in Waukesha County and, 2015–2019, as the state’s attorney general. He began his career as a prosecutor in the Waukesha County District Attorney's office and was elected to three terms as the Waukesha County District Attorney.
