See millions of tulips in bloom as part of the Tulip Time Festival, held each spring here in Holland, Michigan. Of course the #1 attraction is the tulip itself, but the Tulip Time also celebrates Holland’s Dutch heritage each May with 8 days of events & special attractions.

A beautiful garden oasis on the edge of downtown Holland features over 100,000 tulip blooms in the spring and a decor of perennials in the summer. The goal of the Windmill Island Gardens was to develop a tourist attraction that reflects Holland’s Dutch heritage.

These gardens are North of town and there is an entrance fee of $15/adult. Having been to the other tulip viewing areas, we thought these were most spectacular as the numbers and varieties of tulips were greater than the others. The tulip varieties are numbered so you can get a guide from the garden center to identify them.

Tulip Time is a festival in Holland, Michigan that celebrates Tulips, Dutch Heritage and The Holland Community. An immersive garden that celebrates over 65,000 tulips will be open from 9 am to 5 pm. Some activities that you can visit are the Quilt Show, a Dutch Dance Performance and many more. All activities are on your own to explore.
