Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park is a nature lover’s paradise with spectacular views and incredible hiking trails. They combine to create a mountain experience that is postcard perfect. We do not consider any of our trails to be wheelchair or stroller accessible, and we recommend carrying small children who cannot hike the trails in packs.

Chimney Rock Village
Just outside the entrance of Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park is Chimney Rock Village. A quaint, quirky community full of friendly folks, the Village offers an eclectic array of shops and eateries, as well as campgrounds, motels and the historic Esmeralda Inn.

History - Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park
With Chimney Rock as its focal point, Hickory Nut Gorge State Park’s name was changed to Chimney Rock State Park. The park continued to grow in 2007 and 2008 when Foothills Conservancy borrowed funds to acquire 330 acres along the ridge, summit and slopes of Cane Creek Mountain from conservationists Bob and Anne Washburn and John and Alan Moore.
