"Worst vote," "weak sauce" and "why the hell would you do that" -- how Governor DeSantis described parts of a surprise immigration bill passed by state lawmakers late Tuesday night.

"The veto pen is ready," he posted on X Wednesday, after having telegraphed earlier this week that the bill was doomed.

Among other things, legislative leaders want to remove the governor’s ability to declare state of emergencies over immigration.
