The next MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) could be coming from MTG (Magic: The Gathering). Hasbro Entertainment, which owns the long-running Magic card game franchise, is partnering with Legendary Studios to create live-action movies and TV shows adapting its fantasy world.

Legendary Entertainment has partnered with Hasbro Entertainment to develop a Magic: The Gathering movie and TV universe. This comes after more than three decades since Wizards of the Coast debuted the popular trading card game created by Richard Garfield.

The news release notes that Hasbro has also licensed Magic: The Gathering to Netflix for the previously reported (and recently revived) upcoming animated TV series, which suggests this new deal hasn’t canceled or overwritten the old one. Presumably, Legendary’s planned Magic universe won’t intersect with Netflix’s version at all.
