Hikers and bikers could soon go the full length of the Lower Saluda River from the Lake Murray dam to the Congaree and beyond.

Bellingham is buying several forested sites on the city’s east side for $4 million, part of a long-planned trail connecting two beloved city parks. City Council members voted unanimously Monday, Feb.

Officials said the trail had been in disrepair for many years, due in part to damage caused by past hurricanes.
