A winter storm watch has been issued for all of Connecticut ahead of a weekend storm that could bring up to 8 inches of snow, weather service says.

Another winter storm could bring several more inches of snowfall to Connecticut Saturday night, after two other storms hit the state this week, forecasters say.

On Thursday, the weather service says, the chance of precipitation is 100 percent, with the likelihood of it becoming all rain after noon and a high near 39. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch is possible. Snow is also forecast for Saturday and Sunday.

A winter storm will bring snow and freezing rain to Connecticut Wednesday night into Thursday morning, the weather service said.

Snowfall forecasts have shifted Wednesday morning, but parts of Connecticut could still 2 inches of snow. Higher amounts are possible, but less likely.

Connecticut is due for more snow this week, according to the National Weather Service and AccuWeather. The weather service also has issued a wind advisory for portions of northern Connecticut, central, eastern, northeastern, southeastern, and western Massachusetts, and northern and southern Rhode Island.
