Nearly 56 percent of Floridians said yes to legalizing recreational marijuana in the last election. While it wasn’t enough to pass, it was apparently enough to send a message to Florida Republican lawmakers.

Florida lawmakers have filed bills for the 2025 legislative session that would add eligible medical conditions, allow homegrown plants and more.

FOX 13's Jordan Bowen describes efforts to expand medical marijuana in Florida that are in the works with the State Senate introducing Bill 546, which would allow medical marijuana patients to grow their marijuana at home.

Senate Bill 546 would allow medical marijuana patients to grow no more than two cannabis plants at home, as long as they apply and get a "cultivation certificate" from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
