WESTPORT, Wash. — A man was arrested after allegedly stealing an $8 million, 80-foot commercial fishing vessel, the Jamie Marie, in Westport, according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. The WDFW said one of its crew members was on patrol when he received a radio call about the unusual theft.

An imposter stole a fishing vessel — with the crew still on board — from a dock in Westport, according to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) Police.

The crew got the imposter to turn the boat around, and he was arrested at the port where he was found in possession of $4,000 in cash and “a large quantity of individually weigh

The suspect allegedly tried to steal a different boat earlier that morning, but its crew "ran him off the boat," police said.

On Washington's Pacific Coast, a man posing as a ship captain boarded a huge commercial boat, woke up the crew, and ordered them to head out into Grays Harbor. The crew just assumed the imposter was a new skipper assigned to the Jamie Marie,
