The Tigers' opponent is a familiar one to coach Kim Mulkey — just not in the conference it used to take place in. No. 4 LSU tipped-off at 6 p.m. CT against No. 15 Oklahoma at Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Thursday in the first meeting between both programs since the Sooners joined the SEC conference from the Big 12 in the offseason.

The LSU women have now lost 17 straight games to South Carolina, but Kim Mulkey is encouraging them to focus on their greater goals.

The No. 5 Tigers (20-0, 5-0 SEC) haven’t beaten South Carolina since 2012, which means their losing skid in the matchup now spans 12 seasons, two coaches and 16 games. Even under Mulkey, LSU is 0-4 against the Gamecocks, one of only two Division I teams with more wins than the Tigers over the last four seasons.

While LSU continues to win at an impressive clip, coach Kim Mulkey remains mostly unhappy on the sideline. Midway through the third quarter, Aalyah Del Rosario was called for flopping and Mulkey was immediately agitated.
