Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 won't be a PlayStation 6 exclusive despite Final Fantasy 7 Remake originally launching only on PS4 and its sequel Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth originally launching only on PS5, Square Enix has said.

Last year saw the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which was subsequently given a transformative upgrade on PS5 Pro, with an even more graphically impressive iteration released yesterday on PC. In an interview with 4Gamer (thanks, VGC ), producer Yoshinori Kitase was asked by the outlet about concerns current-gen players might need to upgrade:

Kitase added Rebirth creative director Tetsuya Nomura was given "homework" to give the remake project a conclusion that both respected the original Final Fantasy 7 and provided a new sense of satisfaction not felt in the original. This was completed by the end of 2024.
