The man arrested on Sunday in connection with the January 16 attack on Saif Ali Khan was in Bandra, where the actor lives, until 7 am on the day of the incident and reportedly slept at a bus stop, according to a police official.

Saif Ali Khan attack news: The Mumbai Police arrested a man, identified as Vijay Das, in Maharashtra's Thane district in the wee hours of Sunday for allegedly attacking actor Saif Ali Khan in his Bandra home.

Shahzad was apprehended late Saturday, nearly 70 hours after the attack. During the court hearing, his defence lawyer argued that the arrest was illegal due to the absence of prior notice and claimed that Shahzad had been residing in Mumbai for several years with valid documents.
