Canelo Alvarez has signed a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season, scuttling reports late Thursday that he was close to a deal for a boxing match with Jake Paul in May. The Riyadh Season pact was announced by Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia. Financial terms were not released.

Canelo Alvarez backed out of facing Jake Paul in favor of signing with Riyadh Season, and it's led to a furious statement issued by Most Valuable Promotions.
