COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - King Soopers filed a federal lawsuit Friday against UFCW Local 7 for the recent grocery store worker strike.

On Thursday, workers at 77 King Soopers stores across the Denver metro area started a strike after months of negotiations.

After union members approved a strike, UFCW Local 7 said a two-week walkout will “allow everyone to understand our concerns.”

King Soopers filed a federal lawsuit against UFCW Local 7 on Friday, accusing the union of forcing the company to bargain with labor unions outside of Colorado.

Members of UFCW Local 7 for Pueblo King Soopers are expected to start striking on Friday. There are two stores in Pueblo.

King Soopers sues UFCW Local 7 for allegedly forcing the company to negotiate with out-of-state unions, disrupting strike negotiations for Denver area workers.

There are a lot of accusations between leaders of the UFCW Local 7 and King Soopers, and customers are caught in the crossfire. Friday, King Soopers workers in Southern Colorado are expected to walk out.
