Ryan Day secured a new contract with the Ohio State Buckeyes, and new reporting reveals the price of his buyout.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football has inked an agreement with coach Ryan Day, extending him through the 2031 season with an annual compensation of $12.5 million. He will become the nation’s second-highest paid head coach, pending an approval of the deal by OSU’s board of trustees.

The numbers speak for themselves. After winning the CFP, Day is now officially 70-10 as Ohio State’s football coach. Even after the Michigan game, he was 66-10. Getting fired for going 66-10 seems pretty ridiculous, man. Even if you’d have added an 11th loss there somewhere, it would’ve felt so dumb.
