Announced in a recent PlayStation Blog post, a PSN account is no longer required for players to enjoy PlayStation PC titles.

Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus subscribers will stop getting free monthly PS4 games starting in 2026, as the company shifts focus to PS5 owners. However, Sony acknowledges that subscribers may still occasionally receive PS4 games through PS Plus Monthly Games and Game Catalog after the change.

It is no secret Microsoft‘s green gaming brand Xbox is spreading its game releases across several platforms. This includes the PS5 which has seen Xbox Game Studios releases like Minecraft and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 live on PlayStation platforms without any caveats.

You’ll still have access to monthly PS4 games you’ve already redeemed, but Sony is shifting its focus more fully to PS5.

The PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for February have been revealed, and they include a title that will have you pulling off heists aplenty.

One of the primary benefits for PlayStation Plus subscribers will be taken away in a year. Sony Interactive Entertainment announced PS4 games will no longer be a “key benefit” for subscribers. Games for the last gen platform will only be offered occasionally through PS Plus’ Monthly Games and Game Catalog perks.
