Former Arkansas Gov. Jim Guy Tucker died in Little Rock on Thursday (Feb. 13) at the age of 81 after battling an illness.
Tucker became acting governor when Clinton began his presidential campaign and eventually assumed the role in 1992.
Mr. Tucker succeeded Bill Clinton as governor after the 1992 presidential race and was later convicted on charges raised during the Whitewater investigation.
