Throughout the day on Jan. 29, there will be light, scattered rain and snow showers across Arizona. The showers will be mostly focused over north-central parts of the state, including parts of Coconino, Yavapai, Gila and Navajo Counties.
With the WM Phoenix Open beginning next week, it begs the question of how the weather will be for the tournament. Right now, it looks excellent. Practice rounds on Monday and Tuesday should be very warm. Temps will dip a bit on Wednesday but still settle around 80.

PHOENIX – After more than five dry months, Phoenix fell about 15 hours short of its record rainless streak. Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, which the National Weather Service (NWS) uses for the city’s official readings, received measurable precipitation for the first time since Aug. 22, 2024, at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Phoenix has had 151 dry days in a row. There has been no measurable rainfall at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport since Aug. 22.
The streak ended just one day shy of tying the current record of 160 days without measurable rain in Phoenix, a record set in 1972. And it's still dry. With the .01 of an inch recorded Wednesday, Phoenix is still 2.68 inches below average since Oct. 1, the start of the water year.
