The Cleveland Guardians brought back former outfielder Tyler Naquin on a minor league contract Thursday -- but this time around, he will try to make the team as a pitcher.
Now Naquin will attempt to follow the path of former Guardians relief pitcher Anthony Gose, who played five seasons as an outfielder for Toronto and Detroit before converting to a role as a relief pitcher in the Cleveland organization.
The Cleveland Guardians re-signed a free agent with eight years of MLB experience as an outfielder as he attempts to convert to pitching.

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) — Tyler Naquin agreed to a minor league contract with the Cleveland Guardians, who intend for him to switch positions from the outfield to the pitcher’s mound. The Guardians announced Thursday that Naquin had reported to spring training camp and will be working out as a right-handed pitcher.
