Firefighters and inmates from Northern California arrive in San Diego Thursday night to help fight the Border 2 Fire.

Two brush fires burning along I-15 in northern San Diego County have prompted evacuation orders for some as they burn at high rates of speed due to strong winds in the area.

Over 1,100 firefighters were “strategically pre-positioned” across Southern California to address "ongoing critical fire weather," Cal Fire said.
