A line of Mexican National Guard and Army trucks rumbled along the border separating Ciudad Juárez and El Paso, Texas.

President Claudia Sheinbaum’s government said the National Guard members had redeployed to 18 cities and towns along the U.S.-Mexico border as part of a deal to delay U.S. tariffs.

Of those soldiers, almost 2,000 will be deployed to the San Diego-Tijuana border. The others will be sent to Mexicali and Tecate, according to Carrillo Rodríguez.
