A once-in-a-lifetime winter storm pummeled the South, all the way down to the Gulf Coast, with snow and ice. Here's the latest.

The South was still digging out Wednesday from a historic winter storm that shut down interstate systems, airports and schools, covered palm trees and beaches with snow and left at least five people dead in Texas.

The first touches of Winter Storm Enzo arrived in Southeast Texas on Monday night as sleet began to fall in the Houston area . Residents from Waller County to Spring and Porter, Texas recorded sleet, wintry precipitation and flurries of now as the sun set and night swept over the region.
