An MTA bus crashed into a guardrail and went partially over the edge of an overpass in the Bronx on Friday morning.It happened just before 9 a.m. on Henry Hudson Parkway West, over Kappock Street near Independence Avenue in Riverdale.

Former MTA honcho Tom Prendergast was appointed the head of the Gateway Development Commission Thursday, responsible for the first stages of the sweeping $40 billion project to dig a new rail tunnel under the Hudson River and lay miles of new train track through the New Jersey Meadowlands.

Vowing that “on time and on budget has to be the mantra,” former Metropolitan Transportation Authority CEO Thomas Prendergast was hired Thursday to run the agency building the $16 billion Gateway rail tunnel under the Hudson River.

Thomas Prendergast will oversee the $16 billion project to build a new rail tunnel between North Jersey and Manhattan for rail passengers.
