Egyptian officials have announced that a 3,000-year-old mining settlement, known as the "Lost City of Gold," has been discovered buried beneath the sands.

After a whopping 3,000 years, experts have finally unearthed the 'lost city of gold' near Luxor in Egypt. The finds of the city lost to the sands of Egypt was dubbed one of the most important archaeological finds since Tutankhamun's tomb when it was discovered in 2020.

Archaeologists have restored a 3,000-year-old Egyptian gold-mining complex, revealing ancient extraction techniques and artifacts.

According to a translated statement from Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism & Antiquities, a multi-year archaeological projected named “Reviving the Ancient City of Gold” has revealed the ancient gold mining operation. And the project didn’t stop at just finding the site.

Archaeologists recently unearthed an impressive mining complex dating back 3,000 years, which had been used to extract gold and pulverize and filter quartz.
