A series of fierce wildfires broke out Tuesday and surged throughout the Los Angeles region, burning hundreds of houses and killing at least ten people. Several landmarks were also destroyed in the flames.

The Getty Villa, Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles Zoo and more are shutting their doors while wildfires swarm Southern California.

"Climate change, including increased heat, extended drought, and a thirsty atmosphere, has been a key driver in increasing the risk and extent of wildfires in the western United States," the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says.
