Officers responded to a shooting call at a local bar, arriving to a hectic scene where multiple individuals had been shot.

A gunman injured five people early Sunday after opening fire at a nightclub in south Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

HPD said there was an altercation about 20 minutes before the suspect began shooting but did not say if the two were related.

The Chicano-run bar at 708 Hogan St. gives out free crawfish to customers on weekends starting when it opens 4 p.m. Friday and opening early on Saturday and Sunday at noon. Owners and brothers Nathan and Ian Aguirre will hand out between 800 and 1,000 pounds of crawfish before ramping up to 1,500 pounds in the coming weeks.
