Tilak Varma played a lone hand as he shepherded India across the finish line against England with an unbeaten 72 off 55 balls in the second Twenty20 on Saturday. Varma's third T20 half-century rescued India from 78-5 in the 10th over and chased down the target of 166 with four balls remaining.

England lost their opening T20I game by seven wickets in India, It was not a great beginning for England. For the chase, India rode their luck somewhat with a flying 79 from Abhishek Sharma and total of 133 runs in hand.

Abhishek Sharma twisted his ankle during training at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. He is now doubtful for the 2nd T20I against England.
