The Oxford Police Department and the Carroll County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Wednesday that human remains found last week are those of Ole Miss student Jimmie "Jay" Lee. The remains were discovered Saturday, Feb. 1, by deer hunters.

Days after hunters discovered human remains at an illegal dumping site in Mississippi, police confirmed those remains were the body of Ole Miss student Jimmie "Jay" Lee who went missing in July 2022.
