The Taliban government in Afghanistan has suspended the country's only women-led radio station, Radio Begum, following a raid on its premises on Tuesday. A Kabul-based radio station produced women’s education content and was run by women primarily.

The Taliban suspended the operation of Afghanistan’s only women’s radio station after raiding its premises on Tuesday, deepening the exclusion of women from public life and society since the group took power in 2021.

The Taliban's information and culture ministry restricted the radio station’s staff while it searched the premises situated in Kabul.
