It’s open! Decent sized parking lot and maintained trail that follows Eastatoe Creek up to a viewing platform. Great view. Hidden treasure.Full review by I1I111i

Someone mentioned this trail is closed but it’s open. Nice quick stop with short scenic hike and waterfalls. Keep in mind some of the trail is narrow with a drop off, so some balance is needed.Full review by knoxbury

GPS Waypoints Lat: 35.0134 Lon: -82.8178 DIRECTIONS: 1. From Pickens, drive NORTH on US 178 for approximately 12 miles and turn LEFT (southwest) onto Cleo Chapman Road (Pickens County S-39-100) at Bob’s Place Tavern. 2. Drive 2 miles to a “T” intersection, then turn RIGHT (north) onto Eastatoe Community Road (Pickens County S-39-92). 3. Drive 1 mile and turn RIGHT (east) onto Waterfalls Road, which turns to gravel. 4. Continue on this road until it ends at a parking area. 5. Walk down the old roadbed that starts at the end of the parking area. It is approximately 0.25 mile to the waterfall. (We walked about 50 yards upstream above the falls and sat in our swim suits in a small pool of cold water - it felt great. Watch for snakes - we saw two above the falls. Non-poisonous ones I am pretty sure - if I identified them correctly. Don't get in the water close to the top of the falls - you don't want to make a mistake and go over...
Which direction so the falls face? Trying to determine the best time of day to photograph.

I wish I could answer that for you, but I am just not sure. My best guess is that the falls face toward the west, based on where the creek is from where you park and walk to the falls. But, I am doing this from memory and not from a compass, and I could be wrong.
Just wondering if it's possible/allowed to swim at the falls.

They have a large sign. No swimming fishing hunting camping because it is a Nature Perserve. If people keep abusing these rules and people keep dying falling from the falls, they will shut it from public access one day. Sadly People do Not follow the rules.
