I believe you can bring your own. You can definitely launch your own at Lake Park entrance (south of Route 9). I believe you can do the same at Regatta Point (entrance North of RT 9). The Lake is very large and extends well North and south of Route 9. Regatta point charge $8.00 for parking but you get half off if you are renting a kayak or other item. The DCR office sells MA season passes too! At Regatta Point you can rent kayaks, SUP boards and paddle boats. 1 hour kayak rental is $17 for one hour but there are steep discounts if you rent for multiple hours. They offer single and tandem kayaks. A 15 minute video will give you full paddle of the lake. Without it you are restricted to points between the bridge and a landmark gazebo. Groupon regularly offers great deals for rentals. I recently bought a 3 hour rental coupon for $17! Bring a picnic lunch and make a day of it. Enjoy!
