Kayak Island, is located in the Gulf of Alaska, 100 km SE of Cordova, Alaska Malaspina Coastal Plain, on the eastern edge of Chugach National Forest. It has a land area of 73.695 km² and no population. It is significant as the first place in Alaska a non-native set foot, and thus chosen in 1978 for the location of the commemorative Bering Expedition Landing Site.
