Planning one full day here as stopover en route to Disney with 6yo and 3yo grandkids. Where is the best place to get on the beach and what are must dos for that one day? Mostly kids just want to splash in the ocean, I expect.

There are plenty of places to access the beach. There are a lot of public access points. Some with parking. As for things to do , we really enjoyed the carriage tour through the downtown …

There are plenty of places to access the beach. There are a lot of public access points. Some with parking. As for things to do , we really enjoyed the carriage tour through the downtown area. They give a lot of interesting facts about the older homes and if you like, they will even throw in some ghost stories. Nothing too scary. We used old towns carriages. You will probably need to call ahead of time to see if you can fit it into your schedule.

how can I find a place for an extended stay over the winter? is there a web site or company that handles these type of rentals?

We booked our condo through Airbnb. I think there will be some that will offer extended trips but not 100% sure.

Rocks were not a problem neither was seaweed. The color however is not as blue as south Florida like Miami.
