Ancient woodland with over 3.5 miles of paths and a private broad. Tearoom, gift shop, bird hides, children's nature trail and plant sales area, plus a programme of events all year. Accessible to visitors with disabilities. Visit in the spring to see the UK's finest collection of candelabra primulas as well as primroses, bluebells, wood anemones, rhododendrons and azaleas. Summer brings Hydrangeas and Philadelphus and many wild flowers. The garden is great for birdwatching, and there are lots varieties of fungi in autumn. Winter walks are good for spotting kingfishers, deer and otters. Boat trips run from April to the end of October (additional charge payable on arrival ).
Beautiful place to walk my dogs, lovely any time of year. Really tasty treats in the tearoom, especially the raspberry and white chocolate flapjacks.Full review by Nancy Pancy Clough
